Newspaper Structure
Today, My class was split into groups to build a structure out of newspaper and tape only. My group had very different ideas at first , but later we came into consensus that first we should make the structure's base as a shape of triangle. As we all know, triangle is the most stable geometric shape out of all shapes. One of the group members suggested to roll the newspaper to very thin and strong rolls, this can extend the length of the newspaper and also make the rolled newspapers stronger. When we used most of our newspapers to make rolls one of the problem because clear and that was when we are connecting the rolls, the connecting part seems to bend, to solve this problem, we had to cut the two edges of each of the rolls made up of newspapers and insert one into the other and tape it. When the three long rolls of newspaper were taped to the triangle base that we made previously, the rolls could not stand straight, this was because first it was too long, second it was too thin. Therefore, we inserted another triangle in the middle of the structure to additionally stabilize the structure. The outcome of the structure my group made was very successful, unfortunately we did not build the tallest, but it was close. The main physics applied in building a structure would be gravity (a force attracts the body towards the center of the earth.)

Chrysler Building
Skyscraper
One of my favorite skyscraper around the world is the Chrysler Building located in New York City. This Skyscraper was considered the tallest building from May 27 1930 to April 30 1931.
If we are to be able to build the tallest structure out of newspaper and tape then I believe the structure's base should be heavier than the top so that it would be more stable, and each level of the building should be lighter in weight than the level underneath.

Egg Flying Machine
The Flying Machine that my group built, was expired by the designs of the glider and the Da Vinci Flying Machine. At first my group member and I had two ideas, the first one was to attache a plastic bag on the back of our flying machine, but that was not allowed and we did not have an idea of how exactly the plastic bag will be attached to the back of the flying machine. Also we did not want to make the flying machine too complicated. The second idea was to build a flying machine which is similar to the design from the Wright brothers who designed the first airplane in the 1900s. My group member and I both agreed in the end that to make a Wright brothers flying machine, we may need more straws than we have, and the main material to use for the wings is either newspapers or plastic bag, we did not want to make the bottom of the flying machine to become too heavy after we add the egg which may drag the flying machine when we put it into experiment.
